I have applied to study Journalism and Media studies (Joint honours) and on the website it lists journalism entry requirements as 240 UCAS points. However it's asking for "This offer is subject to you obtaining

280 UCAS tariff points from A levels."

I'm being predicted 260, so theres 260. And I have 20 points already off my General Studies exam frmo year 12, which takes me to 280. Is this why they've given me that? I'm a bit confused, sorry!

well uni applications are huge this year so they can afford to do it, but it sounds like you'll get the offer anyway so i wouldn't worry

Yes, I think I was just worrying, but I already have at least 280 (presuming I get my predicted grades). So glad my offers are coming through Thanks!

Is it 280 points from 3 or 3.5 A Levels?

They may have made you that offer because your application wasn't very strong and they didn't want to outright reject you, or they've received more applicants than anticipated.

London Met can't afford to do it.

OP, I would send them an email if I were you and see if you can get it lowered. Not saying you won't meet the offer. But I can't see why they would give a higher offer than advertised. It isn't an oversubscribed course or uni.

    Its gone up to 280

for one of mine it asked for 300 points (BBB) but changed it to 320 when i got the offer but "including BBB" which would only be 300 - i already have 20 points from year 12 though so i im guessing thats what it is

ring them if you're not 100%
