To put a long story short I'm probably going to be looking for a houseshare on my own next year (currently a first year)

That's not a problem for me at all, but I'm looking at potential houses for next year and all the landlords seem to want a group of people to fill the property in one go.

I have had offers to move into houses with friends I've made and stuff, but they're moving into 8 or 10 bedroom houses and I don't want that, I'd much prefer a 3/4/5 bed, of which there are plenty but I have the above dilemma with regards to getting a room in those properties.

Is there somewhere I can look that offers accommodation on an individual basis to second/third years?

Also, is it uncommon to find a few people you don't know (say on AFS or somewhere) and get a group together to move into an agreed house?

Any help on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Is it possible ring up the various letting agents and ask them? im sure there are either individual apartments or flats/houses they allow people to apply individually. If they do they may want to arrange for you to go and view it, which would be a very good option.

Hi i was just wondering where abouts you were looking for house shares as i am currently with a group of 5 who are looking for a single person to join up with us for a stunning house in Plymouth about 4 minutes from the university?
If you could get back to me that would be great
