I live and breathe football, I'm 17 and a half and had never understood the game fully until I was 17, my dad sees far greater potential for me in rugby, but my heart belongs to football; I have both left and right foot, can play in any position, am incredibly hard working and athletic (both fast, strong and enduring) but have no real flair or dribbling ability.
As mad as it sounds, I have had to study videos of players dribbling in order to learn how to do it properly. I play for a football team and have been offered a trial for a local top football team but don't want to waste the opportunity(I haven't been scouted, the team allow anyone to trial with them); I want to be fully ready because I know this chance isn't like an exam where you can resit it...
are you in a similar position?, are you still trying to breakthrough and become the next Cantona, Ali, O'Driscoll, Bolt, Phelps, Armstrong or Federer ?
Do you have any words of wisdom for myself or for those around you for these sorts of situations where you aren't going to let go of your dreams?
