I'm currently going through my advanced portfolio for my A2 Media Studies, but my school was incredibly unclear about what it is exactly that we're supposed to do.
They outlined that we are meant to make a film approximately 5 minutes long in length, write it's script and acquire royalty free music. I've written and shot the actual footage but I've now gone over 5 minutes. I've seen on YouTube some pieces of coursework that are up to 9 minutes long.
So can someone confirm the maximum amount of time allowed for our film, and what it is we are being marked on. If anyone has a copy of the criteria or mark scheme then that would be really helpful.
Does the film have to be no longer than 5 minutes or am I allowed to exceed?

What examing board are you with?
The course criteria / specification can usually be found on the examing board's website so may be worth a look.
