... can someone else have a go at persuading my cousin that no university apart from Oxford and Cambridge have rules on where you can live whilst attending that university?

    Thank you.

EDIT: I meant more that you can live three hours away if you want to, not on the other side of the world.

Surely you could, in theory? I mean, it wouldn't be a great system, but you could do it...

I knew someone who lived in Leicester and went to ARU.

Implied that it was a shock and post worthy fact that someone from Leicester went to ARU.

Just remarking upon the distance between Leicester and Cambridge, and to do it every day when you might only have a couple of hours in lectures...

    Ah.

Still, lets be honest, Leicester has to many tracksuits and lazy accents.

I'll leave it to the Leicester locals to decide that. :p:

Aslong as you get in for lectures and seminars I don't see why a uni would care where you live, whether that be 5 mins away or on the moon :p:

I'm commuting to Brunel from Herefordshire these days. It's ok really - I can do the commute in 2 and a half hours and I'm much happier living here with my OH.

What's a ridiculous distance, to you?
