Most of the universities have already replied and the offers don't even mention which other subjects I should get the grades in (they just say something like A*AA to include Math). So I don't think there's any point in keeping the fifth subject. The subject I plan to drop is English Literature which has little to do with my University course and in the long run I doubt an extra grade in a fifth subject is going to make any difference.

    So I have two questions:

    1. Would the universities care? Because if they did they would have probably included the fifth subject in the offers.

    2. Does having a fifth subject help at all in the long run? (I presume A Levels are only important to just pass through the auto-filters)

    1. No
    2. No. But you will probably do better in your other subjects.

If you've put it on your UCAS form don't you have to let the universities know you're dropping it?

Doubt it. I just need to meet my offer conditions.
