I am a 41 year old single father with 2 sons, one aged 7 and the other 16. I work late nights during the week and sometimes ask my eldest son to look after the little one. But one day, when I had left early due to snow, I walked in to find my son pleasing himself while watching pornography on the internet. I was so devasted and he was extremely embarassed. I don't know what to do now. He hasn't talked to me in over a week and spends most of his time in his room on the computer. I think he has a problem. The doctor told me he may be a chronic masturbator. I haven't let him watch the little one since due to the fact that when I walked in, the little one was in his room crying because my son had threatened to hurt him if he told me what he was up to. I am worried my son may also be sexually confused as he was watching transexuals having sex. I am so scared for my son and do not know how to approach him about his issues. What should I do?

He is 16. It's completely normal. Let it go.

EDIT: didn't see the transexual bit...
Ermm maybe just talk to him, be blunt about it, something along the lines of "You know what you were doing, I know what you were doing, let's just discuss this and put it behind us?"

I don't think TSR is the place to be bringing this tbh.

I'm fine with masturbation but its just his obsession with porn that i'm worried about and his sexual confusion. I think its controlling his life and i do not know who to go to. I feel alone.

What scares me more than anything is that I don't even think it's a troll.

Well I know there may be other young people with similar problems. I know he goes on this and I thought that I could maybe find some answers here.

Didn't see anything in previous posts that suggests otherwise tbh.

We decided that transsexual porn isn't gay a while ago if that makes you feel any better.

The only way you're going to solve anything is talking to him. The longer you wait the less he's going to want to talk about it.

Start by kindly asking him to talk to you, if all else fails cut the net in his room.
Oh and note that teenagers nowadays have the internet on their phones also.

Try to get him out of the house more?
Making him babysit all the time is probably boring him, so he's bound to find something else to do.

Like others have said. Talk to him. It is completally natural to have those urges at that age. Whereas in previous generations young men had to resort to their imagination, or magazines etc. Young men of today have the biggest free amount of pornographic material at their disposal. As far as I'm aware he doesn't have a problem; just too much free time. You also shouldnt be worried about the transexual stuff. Young people experiment with all sorts of things, through that is the only way they find out what their preferences are.

    Hope that helps.

Arn't you the guy who claims to be a Princeton university professor despite your name not appearing on any Princeton academic staff listings?

it's actually normal, 78% of male teenagers actually jack off

He'll eventually get bored of it and move on

I did it too, I think we all did at some point!

next time you see him watching porn just ignore it so he doesn't feel awkward around you, as odd as it seems you just have to let it go. Just walk away if you catch him jacking off again
