How much is a taxi from Royal Holloway to central london?
Correct me if i'm wrong, but Camden is probably the nearest place to Royal Holloway, so how much is it from there? Someone told me £12, but if it was then there wouldn't be so many people complaining about having nowhere to go.

    Thanks!

My train was delayed into kings cross the other day and I had to get a taxi from there to Egham - it cost £86.00 (luckily the train company paid for it!)

    I lol'd.

You guys should have left them to it. I'd have loved to have seen their face when the taxi driver asked for the fare.

When I was in a taxi on Freshers' Week, I was told by the driver that every year there are some foreign students who apply to and get accepted by RHUL only to find out that it's not actually in London.

It's about £114 in a black cab going in the other direction! I've heard Windsor cars do it for about £60, but much cheaper to just jump on the train!!!

Anybody thinking of coming here should note that whilst the train is fairly cheap, the last train back is at about midnight, so nights out in London could be difficult - I think most people just spend the entire night out (which isn't too bad, the first train is at 5.30 I think)

The mid-week club nights with organised coach travel are a good option if you don't fancy hanging about in London.

Urgh! My idiot friends from RHUL play this game where they get the train into London and attempt to pull in order to get somewhere to sleep for the night. They then get the train home. Those who don't pull, either stay in the clubs till close or sleep in the park. When they informed me of this (at about 2am on a Saturday morning) it was too late for the train so I had to crash at a hotel! B*******!
