Help! What should my last A level choice be? Watch

    • Thread Starter

I'll be going to college/sixth form next year and I'm filling out some applications now, but I only have 3 choices for A levels and I want to do four. So far I have Economics, Maths and History.

To be honest I'm not very clear about what I want to do in uni but it will either be: Economics, Business, Accounting or Finance

So what do you think my 4th option should be from the list below? (These are the only other subjects that I'm interested in)

    - Biology
    - English Language & Literature
    - Further Maths
    - Geography
    - Philosophy
    - Psychology
    - Sociology

I was thinking of Further Maths however it would make my choices pretty narrow, I want a bit of diversity. A connexions adviser recommended me to take a foreign language (Russian, Latin, Greek, French etc.) but I haven't done any languages at all for GCSE. So if I start from the beginning at A level, would it too difficult?

(P.S - I'm new here so I haven't quite got that hang of how it works)

Take further maths, it will be very useful when applying to for the courses you mentioned.

Last year i chose History, Economics, Maths and Further Maths. So i would recommend that you choose further maths and although it may sound strange you will find out how enjoyable maths can be.
I've had experience with foreign languages and they're great but you will be at a disadvantage to others who are taking it for a-level which usually feels like crap.
So i would strongly recommend Further Maths.

Starting a language for A Level would be so difficult, I wouldn't recommend it at all! From that list, Further Maths would be good for what you want to do. Just don't take a subject you're not really interested in, because you'll have no interest in working hard at it!
