pill problem..well i'm not sure
a mate had sex on saturday and she finished taking her pill on sunday for the month n her period should be due anyday now hopefully.thing is she's scared that she might get pregnant as she only took the pill for 2 nights after she had sex (Saturday and sunday night) and sperm can still fertilize eggs for 72 hours or so.she concerned about it and as of this afternoon still hasnt had her period.i tried to reassure her that she was probably fine since she'd been on the pill but she's still worried.am i right or is there a slight possibility that she could be pregnant?oh n even if she gets her period could she still be pregnant?coz they're leaflets that say if u don't get a second period u should see a doctor n stuff...just asking.thanks.

So it's now her week off? And she hasn't just missed taking it? If so, she'll be fine 
it's her week off and she's been taking it at about the same time everyday.i'm sure she'll be glad to hear that she's ok.thanks lol

Has she been taking the pill properly for a while now? Or has only taken it twice? I'm confused what you mean by "as she only took the pill for 2 nights after she had sex"...
she's been taking it for a ages now.she only had two pills left on her pack the day she had sex.
Its a bit wrong that she's on it and doesn't actually understand how it works.

no she's read it all up and stuff lol she's not confused she's just worried i guess coz that's how she can be.she just wants to make sure she's ok.she should be and all but she's like 'it doesn't exactly tell you what your percentages are if you have sex two days before your week off' lol
Heh, well you're protected up to the week, AND during the week if you're particularly wanting bloody sex. No need to worry at all. 
if the pill wasn't going to protect people in their week off, or even a few days before their week off, it would either say so in massive letters in the leaflet, or it just wouldnt happen because it would be a bit crap really.
as long as she's taken all her 21 pills correctly she's protected for the whole of the week break. if she's this worried 2 days before the end of her pack, what's she gonna do if she has sex on her break?!

It's okay though, I asked this question on here a couple of days ago, and you are completely protected all of the way through the week. If not, it would definitely say so in a really obvious way on the leaflet!!

well im waiting for my period to start so i can start taking the pill.
im so stressed at the mo which is why i think im a few days late.
i read in the booklet though that sperm can live up to 5 days.

The pill protects you throughout the month, even on the break. So it doesn't matter how long sperm live for.

yeh ok so another question,she's wondering what if she doesn't get a period this week?what does that mean?i'm not sure how to answer that coz it's never happened to me...should she then worry and continue with the pill or see her doctor?
I'm sure she will come on. But if she doesn't, it's probably due to stress. In the booklet it says if you miss one period, carry on for the next month, and if you miss the next, definitely go to the doctor. But if she does miss it this week i'd advise a pregnancy test to put her mind at rest.
