i'm asking this because i'm considering doing a conversion in MSc Computer Science after my BEng Civil Engineering degree (currently in my 2nd year, and am consistently achieving firsts having also scored a first in year one).

i'm interested in computing / computer science because i've really enjoyed the computational aspects of my civ eng degree (albeit using the matlab language as opposed to c, c++, java etc.).

how are these msc conversion courses perceived by employers when compared with bsc graduates. also, could i go into computer science / computing research with an msc conversion course in computer science / computing?

i'm particularly interested in the courses offered at ICL, UCL, Bristol and Bath.
