    I understand that these have been done to death, and honesty I can't believe I'm making one of these threads, but here I go. Anon cos my mates browse tsr.

    • She's shy.
    • This girl has been giving me looks - she looks at me when she thinks I'm not looking, and when I look back, she averts her gaze again.
    • She has never once not smiled whilst talking to me.
    • She always laughs at my jokes.
    • Today, at her place (her two housemates are my friends - she's in the year below) we just exchanged looks all afternoon.

    The problem? I don't know what to do about it. I've tried chatting to her over MSN, but it seems like she's far too shy to let the conversation flow... either that or I've got the wrong end of the stick, but I really do doubt that.

    Due to other circumstances, I now have her number too, and she has mine, but I'm terrified that if I text her then the conversation's going to go exactly like it did on MSN and fade away... any advice?

    try talking to her more in person. be calm and relax. this will help her eventually relax...
    perhaps this will make it easier for to to chat over msn and text, as it's just like continuing from a conversation you have had

    Well I haven't really had much interaction with her outside of her house, since I mainly go over to socialise with her two housemates.

    if you and your housemates are going somewhere invite her along. If you are all sitting around watching tv together, that's your chance to bond over what you're watching. If she's cooking, ask what she's making etc...

    I am in a very similar situation with a girl

    * I've known her for 9 years
    * In primary school, EVERYONE though we were going out but we weren't
    * When I had to go to china for 2 months ( reasons are not important) she was the oly person who really cared that i was gone and she made me call her on skype every week
    * She knows more about me than ANY of my male friends.
