oh i was under the impression that 100% was like gold dust and that examiners were told to avoid giving 100% because after all who can write the perfect answer in a subject like history...?

Examiners are hard to understand. From what I have heard, they mark hundreds of papers. Sometimes they misread something or if someone's answer is original they approve of it and feel generous, they are tired of marking the same generic crap all the time.

Also apparently they mark the exams at any time. They can be tired, frustrated, stressed, happy, annoyed etc.

Also if you got full UMS marks that does not necessarily mean 100%.

Sorry if this sounds horrible, but tbh if you love history and can get excellent marks in it, then that's a great start to your future - uni etc.

I got 100% UMS on one of my history papers. Way easier than my other subjects for example chemistry. Who cares?

Not that hard, it's quite common in some schools. Just be glad you passed!
