I'm going to admit this now, I've never had a girlfriend... I know, I'm 17 and to be honest i find it rather embarassing that this is the case... I hope i don't sound too vain, but i actually think i am quite good-looking, it just seems to be my confidence which fails me.

I'm in the second year of college now, and to be quite honest, I'm getting quite concerned that i am not able to talk to girls in the same way that I talk to my friends... Well, this isn't necessarily the case, there are some that i speak to, but only in some lessons... For example, there are a couple in sociology i can speak to, but English is a nightmare... I turn into a mute and just get stuck into my work (like a geek solving algebra) Before anyone says, I'm definitely not a homo!... haha... Can anyone help me understand why this is happening?

    Your responses are greatly appreciated.

I guarantee there are loads of people in your situation, you just need to man up. You should be glad you're doing subjects that tend to have a lot of girls in, I think I had a total of 5 girls in all my A level classes. Just find a reason to start talking to some of them, and the ball will start rolling.

    Haters gonna hate.

But yeah, stop thinking about it, just talk to girls like they're guys, talk to more girls, and you're bound to find one which you like and also likes you, then you'll be knee deep in the goo.

    Cheers for your reply...

Thats the problem i have. I can't seem to find anything to say in constant fear i sound like a weirdo... And if i talk about the work, or college, surely i will sound like a boring sod? haha... Sometimes i wonder if its better to remain a mute... But i know that will get me nowhere... It's just a matter of finding a topic to talk about.

And surely they will find it weird that I've been quiet all year, then suddenly blurt out conversation.

We are humans as well you know! You should stop concentrating on the fact that they're girls, concentrate on them as individuals. If you're worried about having been quiet all year and suddenly become talkative, then don't force conversation, just start off small like with smiling and asking questions that are sort of relevant and then work from it
