    Hi guys
I went through my personal statement and i found a huge mistake in it;/
i wrote 'i have played for three years' and missed the word 'violin' in it;((
I know that its probably the stupidest mistake ever and there is little i can do now cause the application has been sent out.

Do i still have any chance to get to uni ?? or maybe i should write each university an email saying that the word 'violin' should have been there..

    Please help

Where have you applied and what have you applied for? I'm sure it won't impact too much!

I also have an epic fail in my personal statement. I wrote that I will be working at a pharmacy throughout my gap year, and after I had sent it off I lost my job, woops

it's a shame you didn't try and write 'i have played violin with myself for three years, although sometimes i play with the county durham youth orchestra'...

It certainly doesn't help, there's not much use in anyone telling you to be more thorough next time because I'm sure you have learned a valuable lesson to proof read, and then proof read it again!

You can try contacting the university but the chances of them putting in extra effort to figure out what should've been said... not high.

Is playing the violin relevant to your course? If it's just a hobby/interest it shouldn't be too big of an issue, lots of people find mistakes/typos in their PS after their app is sent but there's not much anyone can do about it, so good luck!

I'm sure three maybe four out of those five uni's will be fine! As long as the rest of your personal statement is good and your predicted grades meet the entry requirements there won't be a problem. Having spoken to an admissions tutor at one uni she said generally if the student meets the entry requirements and their personal statement is OK they will be made an offer, it's obtaining the offer that is the problem

The reason I say four out of five is because Kings is very prestigious regardless of what you're personal statements like but I'm sure you know that already

I think the fact that you missed out a capital 'I' in it is worse... 'i have played for three years'
