Do you think the coalition government will survive beyond tonights vote?

Loads of lib dem MPs have said they will honour their election pledges and not vote for the Fees rise, some Tory MPS are saying they are against it too.

With student protestors making their feelings passionately heard and with the media following every single fire set and every thrown can of paint, the coalition government is facing its first major test.

Think they'll split apart if the vote is carried with loads of lib dem MPs defecting possibily to labour or something new?

Sounds a little extreme for that to happen...

    ...I'll say no.

no this is too minor an issue, though i think it should split and an independent government put in its place.

The coalition isn't going to split over something like tuition fees. But Nick Clegg should be removed as head of the libs soon hopefully.

Not a chance...this is a minor issue and the students will crawl back under their rocks again lol. Infact isnt there talk of the coalition working on one ticket for the next election so we can have 10 years of the coalition..thats the talk.

Yes, the Libs have got too much at stake now-they're all in and they have a large enough majority to rely just on the government payroll. No reason for the coalition to split and it'd be prositively disasterious for both parties if it did. The liberals only chance is for it to last...

A bit OTT to say that over a policy

Surely the problem is that the coalition is in agreement, not that it is splitting...?

    Bugger it.
Why do people make polls asking the opposite question to the thread title?? You're bound to get dozens of fools like me voting the wrong way.

Despite people on here making a huge fuss about it (hardly surprising considering they are students), tuition fees are a minor issue and are nowhere near as important as people seem to think they are.
