Well Kings is very left; it has got a reputation for the hiigh number of 'state' school pupils they select every year.

daaaaaaaamn.

That's what I was told, and where I've applied.

shouldnt worry about it too much, its just a couple of colleges have had alumni defect to the USSR in the past. Doubt there's any strong political bias either way now, and even if there was, judging by your sig there you'd have quite a few lively debates I wouldnt mind seeing

... imo communism and facism are both impossible to work effectively, so you're both backing the wrong horse, that is of course my own humble opinion, for what its worth

I am at King's at the minute, and apart from the lack of gowns, the rare formals and the hammer and sickle poster in the bar, I don't really think it is commie! It is just a very friendly place with a lot of normal people.

I don't know if this thread goes here so mods feel free to move it.

Anyways, my friend terrified me today by saying I applied to a college full of commies.

Just wondering if certain colleges are right wing and others are more left? And which ones?

Cheers.

The BNP are communists, I don't understand why this bothers you

Bah, just what I'd expect from anarchist scum like you.

is that a joke?

I am actually completely astonished that someone so clearly mentally deranged can even consider applying to cambridge.

p.s. I rather doubt Kings will look favourably on a fascist candidate

p.p.s. By you own warped BNP logic it seems that you want to be kicked out of Britain yourself, as your polish heritage is just a tad obvious.

Probably organised by actual communists... www.anl.org.uk

Anyway, any other colleges got reputations? I heard Downing was right-wing, Clare left-wing?

I think Trinity is meant to be really right wing...

I'm not sure about Queens' though, which is in fact where i am applying..

Yes, it was a physical manifestation of my own warped sense of pleasurable self-amusement. In laymans terms, a joke.

Robinson is pretty wingless. There's not much politics at all. I think Jacob finds it a bit annoying.

To tell you the truth, I would rather attend a college which forced me to re-evaluate and defend my views than attend a politically homogeneous one.

Indeed, i'm going with the Sheffield university Socialist Party. but I believe that for such a cause as this, capitalists and communists alike should come together.

Besides, the BNP are communist, extremist right wing, racist, violent, homophobic, sexist, ill-educated people with which I absolutely resent being associated with in any way.
The Conservatives could not be politically any more different to the BNP, and the sooner people realise this the better.

OP: If you are looking for support for the BNP in Cambridge then youre pretty stuffed. I doubt the city even has a BNP branch.

Here we go, Hando: there are right-wingers, but mostly disaffected ones.
