We pay 72p per person towards the Royal Family A YEAR. In return, they bring tourism to the country which stimulates our economy in many way.

Why don't you storm the palace and shoot them all for the atrocious crimes they've committed? Then you can introduce this hippy socialist **** like Soviet Russia so the povos can live happily.x

Why should we give them millions every year?

the royal family is now nothing more than a tourist attraction, its almost like paying tax to disneyland london
Why do we need to pay anything if they bring in soooo much.

As has been said before, the royal family do pay for all their own affairs out of their money - this money is made up by their private wealth (from business such as duchy biscuits) and a grant from the government.

The royal family actually pays more to the treasury in tax than it takes out, so what is the problem?

Yay, so basically the situation I described exists? Well that's good. I was playing devil's advocate anyhow.

The royal family keeps those tabloid papers going. Those tabloid papers are firms that pay taxes on their revenues and employ people who have turds for brains; people who would otherwise be unemployed.

The royal family is a big part of British tourism. The queen's face is on every mug, shirt and thong in the land. Only a living person can have such an effect. That is exactly why the french don't have Marie Antoinette on their underpants.

People actually come to see the changing of the guard from across the world( its sad, i know). And no, if the royal family did not exist the whole grand image of Britain would not exist which would affect tourism. Buckingham palace, Windsor castle are reminders of a living albeit inactive monarchy and hence have such appeal for tourists.

Monarchy at 66p per person is profitable.

You just agreed with me?

Replace them with know one. We dont need a royal familly or anytihngl ike that. We have a government, thats all we need.

We would be millions better of without a royal familly as the money saved on keeping them spongers would far exceed that of a drop in revenue.

A President as head of state would cost just as much, if not more. Moron.

The PM is the Prime Minister to the head of state. All countries need a HoS, which would do the same duties that the queen does, therefore needing large funding.
