Hey guys, just a little question as to whether poor school attendance can affect your UCAS application after you've sent it and got some offers back.

    |It's just that i've missed quite a lot of school lately and i'm wondering whether it may affect my chances as to whether my remaining University choices offer me a place, as well as ones that have already given me an offer being able to see my attendance records, and having second thoughts or something.

I don't know, just are there any implications at all?

    Cheers.

I've been wondering this myself actually...
My attendance has never been overly bad yet these last few weeks I've had A LOT of time off due to illnesses that keep cropping up!
I've heard people say in the past that uni's look at it etc, but surely once they've made their offer all they care about is that you get your grades?!
    Ahh who knows!

I missed loads of days in sixth form, especially the second year after my application had been sent and it didn't affect my offers. I didn't even think about that at the time but I can't see your attendance affecting your application now that it's already been sent off. I'm not sure universities can even take back an offer once they've given it anyway

Does a university get any attendance information on you other than whats written in your reference?

It depends - the referee can talk about your attendance in your reference (mine did) so I don't know whether they get hard, cold data of *exact* days you get, but I believe they do get an overall attendance percentage - e.g. 80%.

Mine was 70% attendance at AS-level (which is why my referee had to account for it in his reference) but at the minute it's 86% (illness + snow), and I still got offers from Kent (x2), Reading, and Southampton so I'm not sure that they take attendance into account?

As long as your application has been sent by your referee i dont really think he can make changes to it unless ofcourse he specially writes to the university about it.
