Fascist filth who came to power illegally and an ally of Thatcher's (yet another proud moment for the Tories). Good riddance.

Edit: Not that I care for rep, but to those who neg me, exactly what are you disputing? That Pinochet was a fascist? Or that he was an ally of Thatchers?

The information you gave us, communications, and also the refuge you gave to any of our armed forces who were able, if they were shipwrecked, to make their way to Chile."

Tbh you cannot just denounce someone if they have helped your country during a war. Same sort of reasons why the US is happy to work with a barbaric regime in Suadi Arabia, it benefits them to look past the tyranny.

He was a ruthless dictator, but at least he wasn't a hypocritical commie like Chavez. That doesn't earn him redemption, though. May he rot in his grave.

Didn't Labour also have a hand in this, by releasing him?

You're right though, I respect Thatcher for winning the Falklands War but her cosying up to this piece of excrement was abhorrent.

Absolutely. It's sickening how that sack of filth was freed without any punishment. He should have been sent to the ICC to be tried for his crimes.
