Hello everyone! I would like to ask whether I should submit my first IELTS result(which meets the uni's requirement) to a uni or not. 1-2 weeks ago I chose the "Accounting and Finance" in a uni as one of my choices via UCAS. Now, my application status is "pending their decision".

Actually I took IELTS Exam in September 2010 for the first time but I did not submit the result to UCAS because I found it very unsatisfactory and "not presentable"(which is 6.5 overall, with two 7s in Reading and Writing and two 5.5s in Listening and Speaking only!). In addition, I have applied for retaking IELTS Exam on 22th Jan 2011 and I am confident that I will be able to gain higher scores (at least in Speaking) this time.

Yesterday I sent an email to ask that uni whether I should send my previous IELTS result to them or just wait for the lastest one in Jan 2011. Their reply is "For IELTS we require an overall score of 6.5 with at least 5.5 in each component. Please submit your IELTS results as soon as possible. Submit whichever result you feel is most beneficial to your application."

    Hence, my questions are:
    1) If you were me, would you wait for the new IELTS result released in January 2011 and then send the better one to that uni, or send my first IELTS result to them first as soon as possible or send both respectively?

    2) In your opinion, what does "submitting whichever result you feel is most beneficial to my application" imply?

    Many thanks!
