Ive been asked to write an answer to a question regarding my ideal client if I was to get a job at PWC. Im applying for transactions services, do you think I should stick to writing about what PWC could do for them in terms of this department only, bearing in mind that it is impossible to predict if a company I choose is going to be involved with and M&A in the future OR would it be better to talk more generally about other areas of the advisory service line?

    Cheers

You need to make sure they know you understand PWC offers a wide range of services, only sticking to your service line would be a great way to get the bin. I also remember doing this, and the question says what services can PwC offer. And I think they also mention not just your service line. I think on mine I had 6 service lines and an example as to how said service line could help the client. I didn't even mention my specific service line.

Cheers for that! I just presumed they wanted to know you understood what you would be doing personally, glad I asked now!

When I did the question, I took it as asking for three main things. First was choosing the company and describing their situation - good opportunity to show some commercial awareness. Second was describing the services that PwC could provide - basically showing that you've done some research on PwC. Third was describing specific areas that PwC could help with - shows a bit of everything really; commercial awareness, research on PwC and understanding of what each area can provide.
