    Hi All

Phoned RAF the other day to submit and 'inquiry', where I was told they would text me when my chosen branch would open up and e-mail the application form. I asked when this was likely to be and told early in the new year is what they are expecting.

With this information I am hoping for an October IOT if successful, and am going to be using my time to maximise my chances of this. I was just wondering whether it would be worth visiting my local AFCO in the new year to see whether they have any further information of when the branch could be opening? Would you advise this, or just wait until I receive a text?

Also, aside from fitness, RAF information and current awareness, is there anything further I should be doing now to enhance my application?

Thank you for all your help.

Just wait for them to contact you. The RAF is massively oversubscribed, when they have the openings in their application process they'll let you know.

Read this forum, follow the many many different bits of advice and if you want to do it, then do it.

Good luck. One thing you will find is that the RAF application always takes longer than you initially think.

Keep in contact with your AFCO, and keep looking at current affairs, it will be a good thing to be doing in the meantime.

Also, fill your time between now and going in with something useful, like help the Air Cadets/Scouts or other such voluntary job. Anything like this to make you look good and stand out from the crowd.
