Okay, so I was trying a way of getting the old expose back, which required fiddling about in Terminal.

Pretty certain I ****ed something up, since after restarting, My dock and background went back to default, I can't open any programs i've installed myself, and I don't have 'the permission' to get into some of my folders.

    PLEASE HELP ME.

      Are you the admin?
try finding a code/command that sets things back to normal in the terminal (go onto google) and try to back up your mac then do a full reinstall of whatever OS you have

Have you got a Time Machine backup ? If so then just restore from that.
