I'm on a gap year and have no friends. All my friends are at uni or live miles away. I suffer from low self esteem even though i am highly confident. Will i get better when i go to uni? Can uni really help someones low self esteem and poor confidence?

Consider passing primary school before you attend University. Just a thought.

You could make new friends (sounds obvz but hear me out =p) If you have a job ask people from work to hang out, go for a drink whatevz. Try joining a club, maybe for a sport or something you enjoy doing, that's always a good way to meet people. Maybe do some volunteering ... Just get out there and you'll meet people. As for uni, it's not a magic fix but it's a great opportunity to meet a variety of people and I know people who gone to uni and found that they get more confident because you meet so many people and have loads of opportunities! Just remember, you can't expect it to just happen, you have to get out there and make the effort, even when it's scary because it's so worth it.

    Logic fail :/

Go out to clubs, go get a job, go to some sort of march, rally, whatever, just meet some people if you really want new friends.
