So I need a new suit, I want something formal, but casual. Not sure if I should buy a suit with a waistcoat. I thought this one was quite nice http://www.tedbaker.com/men%27s/suit...spx?pfm=browse it's £350, which I don't mind paying for, but if I can find one cheaper that looks the same then I'll buy that.

Anyone got any suggestions on the suit or any other suits you can recommend?

Please, get a black suit instead of a grey one.

    Here you go: http://www.emporioarmani.com/item/st...T/areaid//sts/

Very comfortable, decent brand and good style.

Oops my bad, didn't see your £350 budget!

In that case, go into town and shop around, there should be some great Christmas deals going around. My first suit was around £250.

No one wears black; navy or dark grey or charcoal or whatever, but not black. Black is for a funeral.

And you're an idiot for actually thinking that.

Oh and in case you're referring to the white shirt and black tie, we are just referring to the suit jacket and trousers. He can wear any combination of shirt/tie he wants, or even a plain t-shirt.

I think i;d rather have a slightly cheaper suit and get it tailored to fit me perfectly. Seems like a nice suit though, I think what you need is to set aside a day and go round trying lots on, seeing what you like in person.

Nothing really, black just strikes me as both formal and casual, and I prefer it over grey. But if the OP likes grey then go for it.

Good suit, although you could probably find yourself a better one out there for that price.

Check out Hugo Boss, it does some really good ones.

Forget people who tell you to buy a suit from a designer. True, the cut will be superior to those off the high street, as will the materials- but what trumps all is having one that is cut to your measurements.

Get a bespoke suit for around £300 here: http://www.raja-fashions.com/

Takes a while, but it is worth itself a million times over. Same goes for shirts: www.shirtsmyway.com make great quality shirts for the same prices as Ted Baker and equivalents- all to your bespoke measurements.

    Black suit = undertaker

Charcoal is where it's at as far as business attire goes.
