Epic mindblank watch

1. So i have to write the equation in completed square form, and ive done it all fine ive justconfused myself at the end.

So i divide through by 2 and half the b cofficent and complete the sqaure to get 2[(x+5/4)^2 im not too sure if it will be minus 25/16 or plus this was on my test and someone scribble on my paper so i cant see what i put.
2. 2(x^2 + 5/2x)

2[(x+5/4)^2 - 25/16]

(don't forget to multiply by 2)

2(x+5/4)^2 - 25/8

ax^2+2bx = a[x^2+2\frac{b}{a}x] = a[(x+\frac{b}{a})^2-\frac{b^2}{a^2}][/latex]
You missed out a latex tag :P, so then the minimum point of this ould be (-5/4, -25/16)
