    Which tense would this fall into...
    "they should have...."
    Would it be past conditional? As in 'they should have done such and such...'

    Yeah, Conditional. Sometimes called Imperfect, sometimes called First form for that past conjugation, as opposed to the other one, ils eussent dû.

    Bang on - conditional perfect. 'Ils auraient dû (faire quelque chose)...'
