I recently sent off my application for:

    Mechanical Engineering - Loughborough
    Systems Engineering - Loughborough
    Mechanical Enineering - Nottingham
    Aeropsace Design Engineering - UWE
    Aerospace Systems Engineering - UWE

I'm studying Psychology, Maths and Physics with predicted grades ABB. However last year a family member passed away during my exams and I did really bad getting grades CDD for AS.

Will this have a large impact on any potential offers?

    Many thanks

If it was explained in your reference, I would imagine not. If it wasn't, it might make some difference, but a lot of unis don't really consider AS grades because not everyone has them, so it's an unfair comparison.

Do you know if your reference made any indication to this or did you mention it anywhere on your UCAS application? I imagine most universities should be ok with it, but some might be put off if there is no explanation as to why your exam results are two grades lower than the predictions.

I'm not sure my teachers didn't show me their references but my tutor is aware of it. But fingers crossed it will be okay if nothing is mentioned about it
