I just got a 13 inch Macbook Pro (yesterday in fact, through that 10% student discount scheme) and after a few hours of use, the cursor froze. I rebooted the laptop with that mac os x cd that comes with it, then noticed that I wasn't connected to my home's WiFi connection. I went into preferences and tried to turn my Airport card in once again.
My computer works when is connected to the router, but the WiFi doesn't even works. What should I do?
Other than that the computer is great, but this problem is pissing me off slightly as I had to save money for 2 years to buy it.

Take it back to your nearest Apple store or Genius bar and see if they can fix it. If not, get it exchanged for a new one.

Can you not try to reinstall OS X?

Book an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar ASAP, they'll either solve the problem or give you a new laptop as it's within the 14 day period (or you can return it for a full refund if you so wish).
