Ecstacy

Pros, cons, good and bad experiences - discuss

EDIT: Can't really think of anything to say at the moment, just want to hear other peoples experiences of ecstacy. My experiences have all been good so far - much better than with alcohol!!

EDIT 2: Please don't give me abuse, I am aware of the consequences of drug abuse... I'm not attempting to advocate drug-taking in any way, shape or form!!! Plus, there's probably no point posting if you have never taken pills..

Since my sister started on E and moved onto cocaine after her experiences, I can't say that I like the stuff. Especially since she seems immune and/or ignorant to the warnings that go with the two, along with the health risks that DO exist (contrary to her own belief).

Anything above weed is a no no to me. I also don't like the idea of taking a pill that could quite easily kill you, or snorting something. At least with something you smoke or drink you can physically stop when you want to.

It's entirely illegal and though informed discussion of it on here is ok, promoting it is not. Consider yourself warned, everyone.

I wouldn't go near it with a barge pole.
ecstasy, imo is actually safer than alcohol, if you look at the statistics properly, and when you consider the number of pills taken in the uk (ok so that parts only an estimate, but the incidences of deaths is not as high as people would have you believe)

that said i dont take it myself, ive been offered but i said no and tbh it doesnt appeal to me at all

i also believe, however, that it could be much safer if it was legal. i know that might be a contraversial thing to say, but if it was produced in a proper environment, then quality controls could be put in place so as to ensure that the strength/content of the pills is a safe level, it would also make it more expensive, cos these days they are so cheap that young kids can afford them with their pocket money, and they are also laced with all kinds of rubbish, and its that that makes it dangerous.

*edit: im not condoning its use, this is just my own opinion

Eugh....to be honest, I can't understand anyone who has learnt and understood PSE lessons about drugs can want to do them - they are all bad things which can kill you and become an expensive and addicting habit. I'd rather spend my money on fun things than poisons

mine have been good and bad.

Good was indescribable. Bad was the most scared I have ever been. luckily I have friends who looked after me.

Was a steep learning curve, and extremely terrifying knowing I had willingly put something into my body which i could not remove easily (i.e. alcohol you can throw up and feel better) and for all I knew contained drain cleaner, herion or bleach.

Be careful.

What was it like? I can imagine having a really bad trip with acid or something (although I've never tried it) but I can't imagine what a bad E would be like..

I had great, nay, awesome times. I sat in baths and held hands for 6 hours, i cried because the world was SO beautiful. We had some real trippy ones once, i had dragons (like the ones from pitch black) fly around me, and spent an hour talking to a Ville Valo poster. Just, beautiful.

There are risks attached to pills, risks i feel that have been increased through misinformation (leah betts, an unfortunate example, died through OVER hyrdration, after being warned about dehydrating). It's a fine line, and i've had minor swellings from over-hydration. The biggest risk is that you get involved with some horrible, downright disgusting people, imo. I've seen people who've been happily taking them for years, and i've seen people **** and puke blood (this was from pretty heavy mis-use, mind. Not 'normal').

I'd never reccommend Class A's to anyone, for the same reason the person who gave me them said. You lose the fear, and that really opens the gates to everything. If you do do them? Stay safe, do it with people you know, who've done it before and just be aware of what your body is telling you. And buy a pack of gum/baby's dummy.
Don't do it. Not big, not clever, not healthy.

Lol, you paid attention in pse class to the music/pe/art teacher who was teaching it as subsidiary subject? Do you realise they have probably no knowledge of illegal drugs, or legal drugs for that matter. They are simply playing you a government reconstruction video about the one person who died from an overdose that year and reading some bolocks from a leaflet produced by a 50 year old that is highly likely to be misinformed.

Let's look at some of the solid facts..... thousands die each year from alcohol abuse, this includes drunken fights, physically drinking themselves to death in one sitting, liver failure in later life, obesity, etc. etc. a substantially lower amount of people die from drug abuse.

Why do you think there is an emphasis on illegal drugs (class A drugs in particular) in these lessons? Because they are illegal, simple as that, it makes us look better as a country if there is less people doing illegal things. They aren't going to spend as much time warning about alcohol, simply due to the fact that the industry will make billions from these kids as they grow up.

You better believe that if marijuana becomes legal andis produced as a heavily taxed product by the government, it will be mentioned far less on drug abuse leaflets and in PSE classes.

I'm not advocating drug abuse AT ALL, but people are deluded if they think it's ok for their health to drink themselves into oblivion three times a week, but will kill themselves if they snort the odd line or pop a pill every so often.
Chris.

Actually, we had a dedicated PSE teacher (rough school). And to be honest, I think alcohol abuse and smoking is just as disgusting. I can't really understand abusing yourself like that in any way. I'm not a health freak, but I think deliberately harming your body is just moronic.

That's fair enough, personally i take a different view, but at least you aren't one of the hypocrites.

I suppose you may have misinterpreted my idea of fun... I just end up spending all my money in a shop called Lush because it smells so nice!
I have no problem if people choose to smoke/drink/do drugs, I just can't understand it. And find it very unattractive, but that's another story.

Lush, mmmmm (bought Flying Fox & Angels on Bareskin the other day, delicious!!) I have to say, Lush products have a similar effect to ecstacy

.. I'm not advocating drugs, I'm advocating LUSH! (http://www.lush.co.uk/system/index.php)

Alcohol isn't dangerous if you're careful, it's only if you drink loads that it gets dangeous, but with ecstasy, you can die with one strong pill can't you? I heard something a couple of years back about a nine year old girl dying from it
