Im looking into getting my boyfriend some headphones for christmas. He is into sound design so want to get him some ausome headphones with great sound, etc but i have no clue what to get him. Does anyone have any suggestions of which headphones are best for this? My budget is around 70 pounds.

    Thanks

The main thing you need to look out for is a headset designed for monitoring. This means that the frequency response has to be as flat as possible. A good example around that price range are the Sennheiser 280 pro's.

Mate, I highly recommend Sony MDR-V6.

They are very well recommended (have a Google and see for yourself) which led me to buy a pair myself. They are studio editing headphones but can be used for pretty much anything due to their wide frequency band and awesome bass.

Definitely check them out. I got my pair for ~£50 off Amazon.

Rofl those are not designed for mixing anything! How the hell do you even mix with a +15db boost at 100hz?
