Genetics

I really need somebody's help :s-smilie:

Basically, I understand that earlobes are homozygous and attached are hetro'. What I want to know is, if a child has attached earlobes, and his/her siblings, parents, grandparents and aunts/uncles all have 'lobes', how can the child have attached lobes??

Is it like blood groups? Where Mum could be Ao and Dad be Bo and child could have one of four outcomes?
So in the case of ears, Mum is Dd, Dad is Dd but there is that one in four chance that the child could be dd -therefore have attached earlobes?

I hope I've explained myself correctly.

Prefuse apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, I don't know what sort of level of genetics this could be xx
