I would greatly appreciate some help in writing a very tricky procedure!
If you have knowledge regarding Sturm's chain too, that would be ideal. Although I can take you through what I need coding, it's reasonably simple numerical methods.

    Hello,

Are you looking for a procedure to generate a sturm chain?
I'd never heard of a sturm chain before, but i went to this site and found out about it. Is that the right stuff?
I've created a sturm chain for a cubic polynomial, on paper and by hand in maple. Now I'm writing a procedure that take a polynomial and its degree as input and outputs a list of the sturm polynomials. The Q-functions are ignored (not saved).

    Is that what you want?

That was, pretty much, yea. Unfortunately the work was to be done for yesterday. I managed to hand in a decent amount of coding which returned the right answer!

    Thanks anyway!
