'English Literature and Language' A-level?

I want to go to a college but it only offers English Literature and Language I think. What's the difference? What do you think?
it's a cop-out of doing solely english lit

It's no cop-out, if anything it's a more well-rounded alternative.
You learn plenty of literary techniques alongside the language, grammar and linguistics. Good choice of texts and seems to be accepted by most universities if you apply for English

I did it at college and it's something that all Unis accept (i go to Birmingham.)
It basically covers texts as you would in Literature, but also the linguistic aspects of English as well. I don't think it really matters if you chose Combined English or English Lit, so if it's the only thing your college offers, then go for it! I enjoyed it.

I'm doing it now. And I enjoy it.
It's different to Lit, rather than being a cop out. The syllabus interested me more.
