Time is running out to apply by ucas and I’m still not sure what to apply for!! I’ve already taken a year out and don’t want to take another one and defiantly want to go to uni next year, BUT I’m torn between nursing and biomed. Nursing would defiantly lead to a job as there always looking for nurses and I think I would be good at it, so its my sensible plan, then there’s biomed which I think I would enjoy and I quite fancy going on to do medicine. But that would be rather expensive with the whole massive rise in uni fees thing but I want to do medicine! Is it worth the massive expense? Or do I stick with nursing? Also graduate entry medicine is rather competitive so I might not even get to do it! Any advice from anyone ether doing nursing, biomedical sciences or just confused like me would be helpful as I clearly don’t know what to do!!!

If you want to do nursing and think you'll enjoy it, then do that. From what I've gleaned on this forum, GEM is very competitive and with the fee rises and no loans for graduate medicine degrees it'll be very expensive (please correct me if I'm wrong anywhere, TSR!).

Surely you've had a whole year to think about what you want to do in the future, what have you been doing?

You can do medicine after nursing. upside is you will able to get student loans for GEM because the first degree is funded by the NHS
