In terms of looking into my country of origin (despite having a British passport) and such, I was born in Argentina and I'm curious if they could get a hold of my birth certificate for example and all my details even the minute ones such as which hospital i was born in, if indeed i was born in a hospital.

How far does the universities arm reach??

I'm trying really hard here to not make any comments about paranoid schizophrenia, but why on Earth would you ask something like that?

However, if I were to answer this question in all seriousness then I'd say they won't find these things out. There's the whole issue of protected personal data that the university (or any institution for that matter) can't access without reasonable cause and/or express consent from the individual. Plus, there's the whole another jurisdiction thing. So no, you don't have to worry about them finding out which hospital you were born in.

They can't just get your birth certificate :p:

I'm pretty sure I had to send in a copy of mine when I applied though, but that might have been student finance. Four years is a loooong time :p:

im just curious, I gave the example of a hospital as an example as to how small details could be researched.
