    Hi

When I always write essays for GP and History,

I always fail to write essays in given period of time.

I think writing 2000 words essays in 1hr and 20 min is ridiculous

How do you guys manage your time when writing your essays in exam?

    Thanks

Just having natural ability really. You have to let your mind's discourse flow on the page, over planning what you're going to say obviously eats away at the time.

So it's just a case of knowing your subject and writing about it, whilst remaining relevant.

If you have trouble keeping within time limits, all you can do is practice, I suppose.

Be strict with yourself... You need an attention-grabbing introduction to give the examiner positivity regarding your essay, a balanced, well argued body and a well thought out, deceicive conclusion. Try to have two main arguments in your essay, usually one agreeing with the question and one either dissagreeing or giving other factors contributing to a specific event. Work within the time limit and don't worry about trying to make your answers trying to sound too literary! Practice makes perfect (of course, some natural ability is needed but unlike the above poster, I preach practice, not perfection)
