Can't find a word.

Basically I'm trying to analyse a poem by Owen Sheers, and when talking about WW1 corpses he describes the

'absent tounges'

of soldiers, which is figurative to describe how they would scream.

But anyway, what sort of phrase is 'absent tounges'- its not quite an oxymoron but I don't know what else to say...

I think you're looking for paradox. And 'tongues', incidentally.
