Fb is where all the boring people try to impress you with their never-ending wit...

It's pretty popular atm, but I think nothing bad of people without it, personally I use Facebook a lot, and I find it a good time-waster/odd useful thing :P

I do love a bit of fb but it gets pretty boring. I know a couple of people who don't have it and I find they miss out getting invited to events early on. Its not like its intentional, you just forget that certain people don't have it.

I'm in the process of gradually deleting my facebook. Whilst I appreciate the benefits of having an almost standardised platform of communication, I find it just serves as a place for people to advertise just how 'awesome' they think their lives are. They are of course entitled to do so, but I want to deal with my friends with sincerity and see them face to face. I've gone from 500 friends to 56 over the past few weeks.

Facebook is great, excellent for networking, keeping in touch with peeps, sharing ideas, etc. It also makes you waste a lot of time and procrastinate, which is why I've deactivated until after Jan exams

Good for networking, seeing what people are up to, making plans, sorting out work etc

Bad for wasting time, playing the many awful games it is swamped in, browsing to restore your faith in the human race, pesky adverts, silly groups, people who make multiple accounts to troll or relentlessly argue there case on discussion boards and everything else other than the ones i mentioned as good lol

Cant spend more than 10 minutes on it if im not talking to someone whilst on the net or watching something, its such a pointless use of time.

    haha, yes.

Exactly this, I went from around 300 friends, to 34 recently. But since I've started sixth form, my list has increased to around 140 - ish. I'm not going over 150 though.

However, I've deactivated mine until after the January exams as it's such a big distraction!

Facebook is a good way to organise events, chat to people you dont usually speak to and MOST IMPORTANTLY perv on other people's lives.

There is nothing more fun than a good old facebook stalk!!!

I think Facebook is brilliant, not just for the reasons most people here have expressed (friends, socialising etc). Its an amazing new media platform for business. I will be hopefully spending my summer working in a social media company so I guess it'd be silly for me not to have facebook, its a good platform for things relevant to your interests other than just who's party is on or who just got together...
