I was wondering whether this was possible?

I've applied for Universities all local to my home, so that I could still live with my parents.

Is it possible to move out after your first or second year into a 3/4 year course, into student accommodation, and have your student maintenance loan adjusted accordingly? Does anyone have any experience of doing this?

Yes you just alter it when you apply for your 2nd year on the student loan site, however some unis won;t guarantee uni accom for 2nd years. So you'd have to rent with friends etc and not halls in most cases.

I lived at home for the first two years and have moved out in third year and I'll be living out in fourth year too. It's not a problem regarding finance but if you live near enough to the uni to travel in, you might not be guaranteed accomodation by the uni.
