If you think we live in a free and democratic society where we have freedom of choice, I strongly advise you to watch this film, you're in for a shock.

It was on channel 3 tonight. It's a documentary about how governments manipulate how people view wars such as iraq and afghanistan through media coverage

I seen some of it and I wasn't really shocked since US does that almost openly, its just that here in UK we associate it more to US that we forget or cease to accept that UK government does that sort of things.

Man am I angry at BBC for giving us misleading information fully knowing the truth just the get more viewers.

I'm guessing ITV player may soon upload it?

Otherwise I shall try and post a link as soon as I find one...the more people that see this, the better.

I enjoyed it, calling it 'a brilliant piece of journalism' im not so sure, given it was done with perfect 20/20 hindsight.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY_oKve-bH0

the alleged misconduct by british troops was backed up with no evidence, awful stuff happens in wars, people get hurt etc.

apply the same concepts to recent coverage of student protests and BAM - a nation against 'violent, job-dodging hippies'. I wonder when you lot have kids and you are paying through the nose to get them to university if you will remember fondly how you sat back and did nothing

Well Im more or less thinking that when I have kids I'll be quite happy for them to take government loans and grants that are available to pay for their education.

So I won't be paying anything.

Just watched it. Wow is the only word I can say right now. It's really making me question whether I should join the military.

Most the "stuff" I already knew but I found it interesting that 90% of all deaths in the Iraq war were on civilians. This embedded journalism is a terrible thing if it is just a biased account for a story. There's more angles then one so that's why it's rational to remain skeptical to just being spoon-fed government agendas.
