Gorgeous girl, but she has really dorky glasses Watch

I mean they look like the joke ones you get, this girl is a absolute stunner i.e model looking but she wears these small squareish glasses with very thick glass in them which makes her eyes look bigger and a bit spaced out.

I think this girl is a babe apart from that but the glasses make me think her eyes look weird as said.

    Dont know what to think!

Not sure what I'm meant to respond to. Are you thinking of asking her out?

This made me think of what that wonderful fellow Dan Savage calls the "price of admission" (YouTube him). We can all picture our perfect partner would be like but they don't exist. Basically, we try to find a person who approximates that Mr or Mrs Right as best we can, but it is inevitable that they will have imperfections which annoy us. Those imperfections amount to the price of admission.

So you have to ask yourself; are these glasses such a big problem for you that it wouldn't enjoy being in a relationship with her? I know the idea of dismissing someone because you don't like their glasses is superficial but you have to be honest with yourself. If the answer's 'yes' then don't date her. If it's 'no', suck it up and don't let it spoil your enjoyment of all the great stuff about her.

As an aside, if you're looking at a long term relationship she'll want to do things to make you happy so it's not outside the realms of possibility that you could convince her to get some glasses that flatter her face better.

Perfect situation. Buy her new glasses as a Christmas present to gain favour and make her look better (?)
Any way dud if you won't ask her out cause she has bad glasses that's rather vain.

Perhaps, but I think you've gotta accept what you do and do not find attractive in a woman. Looks matter to a degree for most us. As long as he's set the bar not unrealistically high then I don't see the problem.

Moreover, I suspect that if he's thinking that this girl's glasses make her very silly then he probably isn't the one.:beard:

Some people are into the whole "nerd/geek" look. Somehow it's got semi-fashionable, which is why all those massive glasses were really popular in summer, where people just poked through the stuff on the 3D cinema glasses. Maybe she just has really bad eyesight and that's the best glasses she can buy for her condition.

Unfortunately, some people have very bad eyesight and their glasses have to be quite thick. There is much worse in the world, but if you are looking for a girlfriend based on her looks, well, doesn't seem like she'd be the one for you (in other words don't be so effing shallow).

The problem with these people is that they've *******ized the look. The people whose look they are trying to steal aren't particularly concerned with what they (we) look like. And with the glasses - now I can't wear my horn-hims out because I feel I might end up being associated with the sheep at whose hands I've always suffered.

        +1. OP, you're rubbish.

Also, I call troll. This is a piss-take thread because of all the recent "I wear glasses, am I ugly" threads.

So you think she's gorgeous but you don't like the glasses.

Then it won't be long before someone else also notices that she is gorgeous, and ISN'T put off by the fact that she doesn't have perfect eyesight.

hey im Ciaran Stone the agony aunt and im here to help
look darling as long as your beautiful on the inside that is simply all that counts. Besides 'nice' glasses are easy to come by these days. my favorite have to be the most recent French Connection ones, they should really help your style.
Now look fellas lets not beat around the bush, this girl is beautiful, so take her glasses off and get her some contact lenses. she was born with poor sight, though if you love her enough then this is one of the easiest things to ignore.
Finally darling try not to be self consious as long as you are happy that is all that matters. Get yourself some contact lenses from your local pharmacy or specsavers. Also the whole dorky/nerd look is sometimes seen as a really indie or retro look. so dont beat yourself down, your beautiful looks and the nerd glasses give you one of the most sought about looks this side of the century.
Please email me if you wish to talk any more or have any questions, peace x

From my optician (Boots) but they're designed by Bench. I just love that they're massive and purple. But chunky frames seem to be a trend in people that don't even need glasses so it can be irritating.

I think the lesson here to the OP is: glasses are awesome.
