What do you use social media for?
Do you ever use it to help you decide between brands, products or services? If so, what do you use and why?
Has anyone used social media to help decide which universities to apply to or accept an offer from?
(By social media, I mean social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, forums and chat rooms, blogs, podcasts, wikis, photo sharing sites, review sites etc...)

i think social media is for a lot more than just chatting to friends. using facebook and twitter makes it really easy to find out more about things like what PS3 games, and i would be much more likely to buy a game if a lot of people said it was good on facebook.
But i'm not sure if it would make a difference on what uni I want to apply to. I'm not sure i've even seen unis on facebook. has anyone else?

no never seen uni's on facebook either, I think it would make a difference on what uni you went to if you were talking to people already at uni. But all my friends on facebook are either at the same uni or before i went I didn't know anyone at uni to ask
