Me and my flatmate just got our first really gas bill. Its over a 3 month period, and is £196. It more or less works out at £16 a week. There are only the two if us, 1 hall, 1 small bathroom, and a tiny kitchen. I was wondering how much other people normally pay for gas?
I'm really checking because I have a suspicion the boiler is horribly inefficient. It keeps breaking so I'm guessing it isn't all peachy inside.

that sounds quite a lot - was it estimated or were actual meter readings taken? our gas bill (for a house with 4 people in) was £109 thats from 1st july - 20th nov (tho only had heating on when we moved in around 19th sept) you should get your boiler checked out

Yeah that's rather a lot. I'm in a flat with 4 people. Came to £5 a week per person (aprox) last month.

Our gas bill for 5 people in a 3-story, 50 bedroom student house for 1 month, last month, was £38, and the month before that, £51. So for a quarter bill for 5 people we're looking at £135, so almost £200 for a quarter for only 2 people is shockingly high.
May be you're with a really expensive company? Do you know what your price per kWh for gas is? Mine's 3.097p
