I'm currently deciding which subjects to take for A Level and I've narrowed it down to Maths, Further Maths, History, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Mandarin

Out of these seven, which 4/5 would maximise my chances of being accepted for PPE (preferably at Oxford)? Bearing in mind I have to keep either Physics or Chemistry...

Definately Maths and Further maths, the others don't really matter. But I would do Mandarin and Chemistry

I would definitely keep FM and history. I'd personally go with Mandarin and Chem/Physics as well.

If it were me, I would do Maths, Further Maths, History, Chemistry (but because I didn't take Physics A-levels, I would take some Mechanics modules as well as Statistics modules).

      can you do five?
I'd do maths, further maths, history, (that's what i'm doing for PPE), i'd do mandarin as a 'hey, i'm different' and maybe chemistry coz that's recognised as being HARDDD!!!

I'd take history as it is an essay based subject and shows a range of skills, economics as it is the most relevant subject to the degree and then the subject you'd find it the easiest to get an A in though I'd lean towards maths/further maths/chemistry due to their respective reputations and proof of logic skills.

Maths, Further Maths, History, Economics and Mandarin sounds good. Why do you have to keep Physics or Chemistry? If you absolutely have to, I'd bump Mandarin for whichever one you'd enjoy more (probably neither of them, but still).

Why not Philosophy or RE? Subjects that would surely be more useful than Madarin, Physics or Chem for PPE? Both variations are just as respected and if you're planning on doing a heavily philosophy filled degree I really don't see what subject could provide better grounding!
