GENIE Integrated Circuit - Connecting two ICs inputs/outputs, help please Watch

    Anyone give me a hand with this?

    Been trying to work out this circuit. Basically I'm making a modular system with GENIE PIC chips that outputs a high signal on the far left whenever the contact between two circuits is broken. Hopefully I'll develop it to count the amount of 'slaves' attached, but thus far I've not been able to work that out. I'm assuming serial connections...
    Anyway, this here

    works fine when simulated, but not on breadboard or PCB. Have I got the potential dividers wrong on the inputs at all?

    Just found this old post via google, since noone answered I may as well answer myself now I know xD

    As you can see, I'd forgotten to connect the grounds together
