    It's not witty, but my friend uses the phrase "safe as a clown's pocket" a lot.

    Although it's sometimes misconstrued as a profanity.

    Yes, it may be viewed as dull rather than witty if you merely replicate a common saying that you most likely didn't make up yourself.

    Still, you must have some humorous sayings that you enjoy using in conversation, witty or not?
