Everywhere wants experience for even entry level positions...

A few people have told me I should offer to work for free to get experience. Do you think this is a good idea?

If so, what's the minimum amount of months I could get away with volunteering?

Also how many days / hours would be good to work? I'm in college 2 evenings a week, but since it's volunteering I'd rather not work full time (but will if it's the only way to get experience)

    Thank you
