My friend is applying to study English Lit ( like me ) at uni, although what she really want to do is Eng Lit and Italian. She's got a few offers and stuff so is pretty much sorted with a place depending on grades and stuff obviously.
However, she has no formal language qualifications (including GCSE) so she was unable to apply for a language course because this is required. Although she is hoping to take modules in Italian etc when she gets to uni; i think her ideal scenario would be to switch courses.

Does anybody know if you would be able to do that despite having no language qualification? (even though she speaks a little and it's taught ab inito anyway)

Obviously she's not keen to email admissions tutors and say this at this stage but she's looking at the likes of Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham etc.

Any ideas would be a great help, thank you
